We've visited Halong Bay many times, so it's easy to get a little bit blasé about the absolutely stunning landscapes on offer here. But, today's boat ride on a junk through the Bay, reminded me that this is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful trips you can do in this part of the world.
This array of over 3,000 little islands jutting abruptly out of the sea really needs to be seen to be believed, and I've described them a few times before on previous blog entries, so I'm not going to bore you with yet another description of them.
Better still, watch the film "Indochine", or the latest Kong Kong film, "Skull Island", both of which feature the otherworldly landscapes of Halong Bay.
