January 15th-20th – 6 Days At Sea

People often ask me if having so many days at sea is boring – they couldn't be further from the truth, we scarcely have time to fit it all in.

Obviously, preparing and giving my own lectures takes a fair bit of time, but there are so many activities going on that you don't have much time sitting around. Other lectures, culinary demonstrations, tug-of-war competitions, and the Crossing the Equator ceremony (with me bizarrely dressed-up in a toga and wig) were all good fun.

Sadly, we couldn't call into Fanning Island, Kiribati as scheduled (because of storm damage to its already limited infrastructure, although we did sail past it), but the weather has been fantastic so far – amazingly smooth seas and steadily getting hotter and hotter. We pray that it continues.....
