The day started with much excitement as I gathered with 19 other guests to go on a 3-day trip to the 5-star Pumba game reserve. We got a bus from Richards Bay to Durban airport, checked in and waited for our flight to Port Elizabeth....
....and waited.....
.....and waited....
Initially, the boards said that the flight was delayed by an hour, and then two hours, and then three hours. Apparently there was a massive storm over Port Elizabeth that meant zero visibility for any arriving flights.
The problem was that they wouldn't cancel the flight, so there was always that hope that we'd actually get there and be able to start our safari of a lifetime.
We all sat there patiently (or as patiently as possible given the circumstances); but eventually, after 7 hours of sitting in Durban airport (which is quite a nice airport thank goodness), we gave up and got the coach to pick us up and take us back to Richards Bay.
It was a very subdued coach on the way back, but there's nothing you can do about the weather.
Ps.Seeing as I saw no more than an airport lounge, Tracy will be your guest correspondent for the next couple of days.
